It also shows you what collecting sneakers is all about and how many “sneakerheads” go day by day. The video also shows how “sneakerheads”  camp out for days and what kind of events they attend. Vans Evolution Of Skateboarding - 1986

1986 was a big year for many sneaker manufacturing companies. The Jumpman Brand was started in 1986 and shed light on Micheal Jordan. But before that, there were many other brands which shed light on skateboarding. Vans, a shoe designed by Paul Van Doren in 1966 can be considered one of these shoes. The shoe was first intended to be a casually worn shoe but then made its way into skateboarding. This US brand was fired up within a few years and created different models like the Authentic, Skate hi, Slip- On  and Strap. To this day Vans is a very common brand and and still releases many different models of their shoes. Seen above is a video of different skateboarders in 1986 displaying their smooth tricks while wearing their Vans.

Nike’s “Let Me Play” Campaign.

SneakerSpeaker is very serious about creating a better environment. Every year, millions of pairs of athletic sneakers are thrown away, clogging landfills and wasting a lot of good material. Quite a while ago Nike created a campaign to help prevent this. The “Let Me Play” campaign is one which provides many opportunities to creating a better environment. One way in which they do this is by recycling used sneakers. Ever since this “Reuse A shoe” program started, 20 million pairs of athletic shoes have been recycled and used to create 250 sport surfaces for many young children to play on. “Swoosh! Inside Nike” On CNBC

Airing tonight on CNBC will be one of Nike’s most memorable viewings. Tonight at 10PM/9PM central will be a documentary on Nike’s history and successes. Darrel Rovell will host the show and take us into the world of Nike and give us a look of many aspects and concerns of this wealthy and successful brand.
